October 2013 Update and Bookings for Nov-Dec School Holidays

October! It's already October in a blink of an eye!

Yes yes... I know... I feel guilty... about "abandoning" this blog for a while. The past few months I had just enough time to upload some of my recent cake projects with... yes... I know... just basic captions... Wish I have more time to tell the story behind each cake. With 2 school going children, a cheeky chipmunk of a toddler, a full time job and part time home biz, it sure can be quite overwhelming sometimes. I try to take things slowly, steadily and positively.

My recent experiments? For a while now, I've been playing around with varieties of ganaches. Trying out new recipes and maybe will even try using ganache as my fondant cake filling. It's still iffy whether I will eventually use it or not (as base for fondant I mean)... coz in our hot humid weather, food goes bad quite easily. I especially worry when a recipe requires ingredients such as whip/heavy cream and raw eggs. Refrigeration is out of the question for fondants, as toppers and decors will wilt and fall off. That's my dilemma you see...

While I know that continental cakes such as Chocolate Indulgence, Tiramisu, Banana Choc cakes are more drool-worthy than my usual butter, rainbow, choc moist and red velvet, I can't use them for decorative novelty cakes as they are too soft and easily spoiled. As you can see, 90% of my products are novelty cakes, cakes that need to be carved, shaped and stacked. I need a firm and steady base to make the design of your dreams materialize, you see... That's why vanilla, chocolate and orange cakes with buttercream frosting are always my options.

So anyway... My initial plan was to update you about my Oct schedule, but then... as you can see lah what happened... I got a little "detoured". Ooopsie!... kekeke...

October... I know it's still the beginning of the month. But I'm sorry to inform you that my October 2013 schedule is officially full. Also, to all who wish to order for Nov and Dec, please quickly book your slots. As I have advised before, SCHOOL HOLIDAYS are my peak seasons, not only for myself I think, they're the peak seasons for all bakers. It's the season of hantaran cakes and kiddie birthday cakes. So please book early to avoid disappointments ya.

Alritey... I have to go now. You know where to reach me. Also, I'm more active on fb, so if you want to know what's new at GG Home Biz, do checkout our fb page. You may also whatsapp or text me at 012-7879964 or pm me on my personal fb Ezuin Zainuddin. Til next time, stay safe and healthy, have a lovely October my friends!
